Kalyan civic body to pay Rs 6 lakh to family of boy who fell into open manhole

Hearing a plea on non-compliance with earlier directions to secure manholes, the bench also took note of 18 pothole-related deaths in Thane district this year and criticised the poor condition of roads in the region.
